This evening on Facebook, Octavian Henegariu reported the following:
“I biked home from work this evening (New Haven to Hamden, CT). I usually cross the Waite Street bridge by Lake Whitney in Hamden. This evening, I noticed a bird with a white head perched in a tree South of my location on that bridge.
..
“Took a few pictures with my Nikon P1000 and confirmed it was an Anhinga.
..
“In June of this year, I spotted another Anhinga in precisely the same location, drawing the attention of local birding enthusiasts.
Below is a picture I took this evening and a map with the location. The tip of the pink arrow marks the approximate location of the bird.”
