Subject: [slocobirding] Red-necked Phalarope, Turri Road
Belated post: seen Wednesday, July 31, late afternoon, a flock of about 30 Red-necked Phalarope on the westernmost, large pond at Turri Road. First, I saw a pair, cruising on the pond. Then, on a muddy strip towards the far end of the pond, I saw what I thought were a bunch of mud lumps. Then about half of them up and flew off westwards towards the bay.  A short while later, most of the rest of them also flew towards the bay. The birds were quite far away, but I diagnosed Red-necked based on their black caps.

Also, just before I left, two noisy Killdeer flew in.
