My son Bryan and his wife Rui Li and I birded the Sedan area this a.m. On 269 th ave. we saw two adult Yellow-crowned Night Herons, one before the bridge and another in the marsh on the west side of the marsh after the bridge. This is the area used for years but I had one YCNH early this summer and none the last two times there. It is a large area and a lot of space I never cover. We also saw a Mockingbird, Pileated Woodpecker and White-eyed Vireo. Tom Johnson Mystic, Ia.
