Greetings
It was a great day for birding from our yard.
This afternoon as I sat on my porch, I heard a familiar kekking call. It took a moment for it to register Peregrine Falcon.
Had to rush in and get my binoculars and shout there's a Peregrine. Got out in time to see not one but two Peregrine Falcons circling over the next door neighbors house.
One was definitely an adult. The other appeared to be a juvenile.
This marks the third time this year we have seen Peregrine Falcon from our yard.
I must say that we live within about 3 miles from a known Peregrine nest site. I confirmed one juvenile fledged at that site this year.
Second great sighting was a female Wood Duck and her brook of 6 ducklings paddling down the creek behind our house.
We have seen adult Wood Ducks every year, but this might be the first time to see the babies.
Top that off with two Hummingbirds and a Great Blue Heron.
Migration time is coming to an end, but there is still much to enjoy with our resident birds.
