As a scouting mission for tomorrow's field trip, Lisa and I camped for a couple nights at Chain O' Lakes earlier this week. Though it rained most of Monday night and Tuesday morning, we were happy to see that Spring migration is in full swing! Our full list of birds during our stay was 68 species, including sixteen species of Warblers! On Tuesday alone, we found 61 species, with another 51 species Wednesday morning before packing up to head back home. The foliage is already starting to get dense, so a lot of our birding was by ear. It was also really nice to hear a pair of Barred Owls calling as we were sitting at our campsite!
