A little over a week after the first male(s) arrived, we had our first female Ruby-throated Hummingbird at the feeder yesterday.
We also have a resident pair of Orioles, after having had very occasional sightings last year, and I’m wondering if this is related to providing a 6:1 sugar water ratio in their feeder this year, while keeping the Hummer feeders to 4:1, having read that Orioles prefer a weaker mix.
Our briefly-resident Indigo Bunting, however, seems to have moved on.
