Subject: Wichita birdwalks tomorrow
Wichita Audubon will have 2 birdwalks tomorrow, Saturday, May 10. We start
with our regular 2nd Saturday walk at Chisholm Creek Park, meeting at the
Great Plains Nature Center parking lot at 8:00 am. Expect to walk about 1.8
miles on cement and asphalt paths. When we finish there we will head out to
the Canoe Launch, Ark River access for a couple hours of walking on
rougher, but still mostly flat trails. Painted buntings have already been
reported this spring and Bell's vireo should be singing. Fish crows,
pileated woodpeckers, N. parula, and white-eyed vireo are all possible.
Meet in the parking lot there at 10:30 or car pool with me from Chisholm
Creek. Location here: https://ebird.org/hotspot/L931037
Bug spray and water recommended.
