Subject: [NHBirds] Pondicherry Migratory Bird Day Saturday
We will have a Migratory Bird Day at the Pondicherry National Wildlife Refuge on Saturday. The weather forecast is not ideal rain predicted for much of the day. Temperatures will range from 46-54 so it is important that birders dress for the cool and wet conditions.

The trail system is high and well drained but rubber boots are suggested. Some people even bird with umbrellas that they use in the off and on rain we have been experiencing.
The first event starts at 0600 at Airport Marsh in Whitefield where we can bird close to our vehicles. The second event starts at the Pondicherry Trailhead at 289 Airport Rd in Whitefield at 0800 where we will walk the flat and wide rail trail to Cherry Pond. You can join us for as long as you want although we typically finish the day in the early afternoon.

The event is free and we have several bird guides to help us find birds and wildlife. We may not see a lot of birds due to the weather but we could see some uncommon birds that are waiting out the rain. Free 2025 Migratory Bird Day posters will be available.
