Subject: White-winged Dove in Palmer, Washington County
I picked up a White-winged Dove as a new yard bird in Palmer, Washington County, this morning.

Merlin picked it up yesterday but I was unable to see or hear it. But this morning, it was calling continuously from my neighbors yard.

Last year, a White-winged Dove was present in Linn, Washington County, for several weeks, so I was able to become pretty familiar with its call since they are still rare up here on the northern border.

Also had a vocal Eastern Towhee yesterday. I usually have Spotted Towhees in the summer. I haven’t had a lot of luck with migrants this spring, but I’ve been up late working a lot so haven’t been able to go birding in the early morning hours.
