Subject: [ia-bird] Kentucky Warbler in DM
I had a spectacular but brief look at a singing Kentucky Warbler trailside this morning at Ashworth & Greenwood Parks in Des Moines, not too far from the parking lot. Attached is a map of my track, red dots indicating the section of trail where sighted. It made two appearances about 50 yards apart within 20 minutes (assuming same bird), singing loudly but very shy. It would stop singing and then seemingly vanish (presumably ground foraging). Got one great look while it was perched singing. Wish I could've gotten a photo (I did get audio). Who knows if it will hang around but just in case anyone wants to go have a look! It had been a few years since I had seen one 🙂WyWy has sent you this message from his mobile device.
