A beautiful breeding plumaged Common Loon being seen right now (11:00 am) at Turtle Pond, Ridgefield, CT. This is a small pond, so there are dynamite, close in, don't have to leave the car, views right next to the road across from 124 Old Sib Road. The loon is also belting out its yodel call. This is the first time I have ever encountered a loon on this small pond. If this loon doesn't stick around at Turtle Pond, it may move over to the nearby, much larger and much more likely Lake Mamanasco.
