After the wonderful afternoon on Friday photographing hummingbirds at Irvine Regional Park I went on Sunday to see the Common Loon at Walnut Canyon Reservoir in Anaheim Hills. It is in full breeding plumage which I believe is not so usual for Orange County. A few passerby's who were familiar with the bird from back east were hoping for call. But alas none as of yet. It is quite a diver as it seems to be underwater for well over a minute often emerging far from where it went down. As ebird does not yet generally accept videos I posted a short video of its dive on my Flickr page
