The bird walk at Ft. Harrison State Park, Indianapolis, managed to find 55 species on a chilly, sometimes drizzly morning on May 4th. Highlights were enjoyable to killer looks at several species including Northern Parula, Baltimore Oriole, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, American Redstart, Ruby-throated Hummingbird, and Osprey. The Northern Parula male was out in the open abut 8 feet from me and just slightly above eye level. The complete list is below.
There will be a bird walk each Sunday in May, including Mother's Day and Race Day, at Ft. Harrison. Meet at 8am in the NE corner of Delaware Lake parking lot.
