We had a group field trip this past weekend with Birds Georgia. Not a super high species count but we did get some awesome warblers and thrushes. Unfortunately we were under pressure from severe weather coming in (which also probably affected how many birds we saw) so we couldn't explore as thoroughly as we wanted. There should still be plenty of migrants up there this week! It's worth it just for the incredible views anyway. We made it to the top of the mountain road and heard plenty of birds throughout the walk. I strongly recommend going early in the morning as that's when the birds are usually the most active. I'm sure he'd come across other birders on the weekend but I don't personally know of any organized trips. Good luck to him!
