Chipping sparrow, move aside. A Blue Headed Vireo took his job and got us up and rolling very early Sunday morning, 5/4, here in Springfield! It was too misty to see him but we certainly did hear him! We were away for a week, so can't determine his exact arrival date, but he was not here before we left 4/23. In 2024, his first appearance in our yard was on 5/3/24! So he's right on time. He sounds so much like the Red-eyed but there is that extra 2 beat phrase at the end of the song.
