Subject: KOS Spring Meeting
The KOS Spring Meeting was very successful. More than 50 people registered
or participated in organized events at some point, all just to share the
love of birds. A total of 178 species were shared at the compilation, with
more sure to come from shared eBird checklists.

A huge thanks to all the leaders that volunteered their time to show people
around: Tom and Sara Shane, Jacob Riggs and Ted Cable, Pete Janzen and
Kevin Groeneweg, and Kurt Meier. Additional thanks to old friend and
Ulysses HS principal Justin Coffey for providing a stellar venue for the
Friday reception. Finally, thanks to both the city shop folks in Ulysses
and Johnson and to numerous land and homeowners that opened their birdy
sites to help us provide unique and exclusive birding opportunities.

The best birds Kurt, Fen the birding dog, and I located were the sparrow
tri-fecta of Black-throated Sparrow, Rufous-crowned Sparrow, and
Green-tailed Towhee. They were generally here or ese of this point on May
4: 37.5240516, -102.0235196. The trip I was on on Saturday also found a
Green-tailed Towhee at Frazier Park.

I hope the other birders that accumulated more birding aura than I continue
to regale us with their great finds.

Good birding and have fun!!
