Subject: [NHBirds] possible snow goose??
Has anyone seen a report for a snow goose in or around Manchester NH in the
past few days?

Yesterday morning 10:15 am., Monday April 21st, I was driving across the
Bridge St bridge in Manchester NH, as 4 geese approached flying south over
the Merrimack River. At a distance they appeared to be 4 similar sized
Canadian Geese, then as I was mid-way over the bridge the 4 geese crossed
above me. 3 were Canadian geese, and 1 was a white goose with black tipped
wings on the underside. We often see snow geese each year when we visit
California wildlife refuges in February and March. My first impression was
of a Snow Goose, but I am puzzled as to its traveling partners, and how
late in the season a snow goose would still be coming through NH.
Any thoughts?
