Subject: Notables in Bourbon Co.
The last several days have been glorious in Bourbon County and I've made it
out and about now three days in a row which I'm not sure I've ever done
before. Lots of action and several notables:

*Elm Creek Lake:* Upland Sandpiper (6), Scissor-tailed Flycatcher (4),
Lesser Yellowlegs (20+), Greater Yellowlegs (-10), Lark Sparrow (2), Bank
Swallow (2) Note: Upland Sandpipers have style. Bank Swallows are tiny!

*Lake Fort Scott: *Kentucky Warbler, Nashville Warbler, Black and White
Warbler, Parula, Louisiana Waterthrush; Summer Tanager; Warbling Vireo;
Common Loon; Broad-winged Hawk. Note: Kentucky Warbler is a lifer for me
and I got a decent enough picture to put on my eBird list.

*Gunn Park: *Orange Crowned Warbler, N. Parula, Great Crested Flycatcher,
Eastern Kingbird, Summer Tanager; Chimney Swift.

Also, had a great, up-close look at a female Blue Grosbeak near Rock Creek
Lake yesterday.

No hummers or orioles that I've encountered yet.

Duc in altum,
