Subject: [ia-bird] Boone Co. flooded fields hosting shorebirds
After heavy overnight rain in northern Boone Co. I headed up to Bjorkboda
Marsh to see what might be found. But there were far more shorebirds in
many flooded fields than at Bjokboda.

I ended up with 12 kinds of shorebirds this morning, including both *American
Avocets* and *American Golden Plovers*. Best for me were 2 new FOY--a *Baird's
Sandpiper* and a few *White-rumped Sandpipers*. This is now a far better
shorebird year for me than last year!

If you are searching for shorebirds, I recommend checking all the flooded
fields anywhere near you.
