Hi Everyone!
Today a small group of us birded Debell Uvas Creek Preserve to get ready for next week's SCVBA field trip to that location. I think it was a little bird quiet for that location, perhaps due to the cold weather. But, we did spot 4 *Hooded Orioles*, 2 *Lawrence's Goldfinches*, 3 pairs of *California Thrashers*, and a large flock of *American Goldfinches*. Several *Black-headed Grosbeak* were singing and we were finally able to get our eyes on one of them.
After that location, I went across the street to eat my lunch at Christmas Hill Park. I spent most of the time on the large lawn right next to the creek. Here I had *Bullock's Orioles*, a male *Western Tanager*, a pair of *Lawrence's Goldfinches* (perhaps the same pair), a *Bald Eagle* and a *White-tailed Kite*.
