Don Becker of Reptiles and Amphibians https://www.facebook.com/groups/214508491984491 has a link to report these to his private scientific research website. There are those who would poach this and other species as they have real value and a market for them if they know right where they are located. I did the same thing as you many years ago but never posted a rare one since after Don contacted me. There are legal Snapping Turtle trappers that have certain laws to abide by. They sell tons of live turtles to a fellow in Southern Iowa who processes and ships the meat to the Chicago market. I know of a couple commercially licensed Snapping Turtle farms as well. I highly recommend Don's Facebook page for any who have interest. Nudged up on top of the nest right behind the sitting goose was a very large Blanding's Turtle. My first really good look at one. Good to see. Photos attached. 🙂Wy has sent you this message from his mobile device.
