Subject: [NHBirds] Rare Bird Alert, New Hampshire, April 21, 2025
This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Monday, April 21st,
2025.



A CASPIAN TERN was seen in Exeter at Swasey Park, at Powder House Pond, and
on the Squamscott River on April 19th and 20th, and 1 was seen at Horseshoe
Pond in Concord on the 20th.



A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was seen at Horseshoe Pond in Concord on April 15
th, and 14 BONAPARTE’S GULLS were seen at Surry Mountain Lake on April 19th.




An AMERICAN OYSTERCATCHER was seen along the coast at Odiorne Point State
Park on April 15th.



A PECTORAL SANDPIPER and a LESSER YELLOWLEGS were seen in coastal marshes
in Hampton on April 14th.



2 WILLETS were seen in coastal Rye south of Odiorne Point State Park on
April 19th.



2 LEAST SANDPIPERS were seen at Hampton Beach State Park on April 20th.



4 SPOTTED SANDPIPERS were seen at the Merrimack River Conservation Area
Floodplain in Concord, 2 were seen at Morrill’s Farm in Penacook, and 1 was
seen at the Deer Hill Wildlife Management Area in Brentwood, all on April 19
th.



6 COMMON GOLDENEYES were seen along the coast at Odiorne Point State Park
on April 18th.



2 SANDHILL CRANES were seen at fields along 7 Newell Road in Newbury on
April 16th, 1 was seen in fields adjacent to Horseshoe Pond in Concord on
the 14th, 1 was seen in fields at the NH Audubon McClane Center in Concord
on the 15th, 1 was seen at the Ines and Fredrick Yeatts Wildlife Sanctuary
in Warren on the 19th, and 1 was seen at Reed’s Marsh Wildlife Management
Area in Orford on the 19th.



A flock of 15 GLOSSY IBIS was seen in the marsh west of Wallis Sands in Rye
on April 19th.



A GREEN HERON was seen in Hooksett on April 19th, and 1 was seen at Airport
Road in Swanzey on the 20th.



A flock of 22 BOHEMIAN WAWINGS was seen at the Emerson Place grounds in
Lebanon on April 19th.



3 BLACK VULTURES were seen in Dover on April 15th, 2 were seen in Walpole
on the 19th, 1 was seen in Penacook on the 18th, 1 was seen in Nashua on
the 18th, and 1 was seen in Durham on the 20th.



A FISH CROW was reported from Holderness on April 19th, and 1 was reported
from Plymouth on the 20th.



A LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH was reported from Albany on April 16th, 1 was
reported from Lee on the 19th, 1 was reported from Bartlett on the 19th,
and 1 was reported from Warner on the 21st.



A BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER was seen in Seabrook on April 20th.



A YELLOW WARBLER was seen in Durham on April 18th, 1 was seen in Rye on the
19th, and 2 were reported from Keene on the 20th.



A BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER was seen in Orford on April 19th, and 1 was
seen in RINDGE on the 20th.



An OVENBIRD was heard singing in Amherst on April 18th.



A WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW was reported from Antrim, 1 was reported from
Dover, and 1 was reported from Errol, all on April 19th.



There was an unconfirmed report of a BALTIMORE ORIOLE in Merrimack on April
18th.



2 CHIMNEY SWIFTS were seen in Exeter on April 17th, and 1 was seen in
Hooksett on the 19th.



2 PURPLE MARTINS were seen in Seabrook on April 15th.
