Subject: [NHBirds] 39 raptors - Gilford
I first noticed some Broad-winged Hawks as I walked the Carye Trail in Gilford.  I moved out into  the open in a clear-cut for a few hours and counted 30 Broad-winged Hawks riding SW winds to the Northeast, including a kettle of 6, a large number for spring.  This wasn't even from a hilltop, purely spontaneous.
On Monday I will open the Alton Bay Hawk Watch to kick off the 2025 spring hawk migration season, where all interested parties are welcome.
