Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] Bank Swallow Lake Murray, continuing Little Stint.
At 3:15 p.m. on Friday there is currently a Bank Swallow flying back and forth at Lake Murray up against the shoreline on the north side of the mouth of San Carlos Bay. I'm viewing it from a long way away with a scope from the Kiowa parking lot looking north sort of in line with the ball fields that are on the north side. Way up against that shore. This morning. Several of us were at Sweetwater Reservoir where there were probably on the order of 800 or more swallows, with Cliff being by far the most numerous, but could not pick out anything rare. We did have a full alternate Horned Grebe which is a rare migrant inland. And the Little Stint continues on its new newly found favorite salt-mud little island in the eastern part of Pond 23 at the Salt Works, as best viewed from the parking lot on the east side of the office building off the end of 11th Street. It will likely leave any day now, but may stay up to another week or so.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
