Subject: [NHBirds] Rare Bird Alert, New Hampshire, April 14, 2025
This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Monday, April 14th,
2025.



A HARRIS’ SPARROW was found at the New Hampshire Fish & Game Bellamy River
Wildlife Management Area in Dover on January 13th. It was first seen next
to the entrance road and then across the street on the ground below a
birdfeeder in the front yard of a private residence and was last reported
on April 12th. Please view the feeders from the road and stay off the
private property.



There was an unconfirmed report of a WHITE-FACED IBIS seen with a GLOSSY
IBIS in farm fields in Stratham on April 13th.



At least 13 SNOWY EGRETS and 6 GREAT EGRETS were seen along the coast
during the past week.



2 SANDHILL CRANES were seen at Sherman’s Farm in Conway on April 10th, 1
was reported from Sandwich on the 10th, 1 was reported from Andover on the
11th, and 1 was reported from Penacook on the 13th.



5 BRANT were seen along the coast in Rye on April 11th.



3 RED-NECKED GREBES were seen at Post Pond in Lyme on April 13th.



2 WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS and 3 BONAPARTE’S GULLS were seen at Surry Mountain
Lake on April 11th.



3 GREATER SCAUP were seen at Wilson Pond in Swanzey on April 11th.



130 WILSON’S SNIPE were seen foraging in Smith Fields in Greenland
(viewable from Newington Road) on April 13th.



At least 1 LESSER YELLOWLEGS was seen in coastal Hampton during the past
week, and 1 was reported from Mine Falls Park in Nashua on April 14th.



A PECTORAL SANDPIPER was seen at Hampton Salt Marsh Conservation Area on
April 10th and 14th.



An ICELAND GULL was seen in Exeter on April 13th.



3 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS were seen along the coast in Rye on April 13th.



A BROAD-WINGED HAWK was reported from Walpole on April 13th.



2 BLACK VULTURES were seen in Londonderry on April 8th, and 1 was seen in
Rochester on the 10th.



A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen in Laconia on April 8th.



A flock of 10 EVENING GROSBEAKS was seen in Randolph on April 13th.



3 FISH CROWS were reported from Plymouth on April 11th.



A BARN SWALLOW was seen in Salem on April 11th.



A SWAINSON’S THRUSH was reported from the Powwow River in South Hampton on
April 10th.



A LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH was reported from Hancock, and 1 was reported from
Durham, both on April 11th. Another was reported from Keene on the 13th.



A few YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS, PALM WARBLERS, and RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETS were
reported from scattered locations during the past week.
