A chilly with a north wind blew along the Kaw this morning. Still few migrants. The Migration Dashboard said that very few migrants flew into Douglass Count last night. Rain & south winds should bring in many spring northward travelers by the weekend. Still seeing year-round residents.

Did see 4 Wood Ducks and heard 3 noisy Fish Crows chatting with each other on the south end of the river trail. I observed one Turkey Vulture but they were absent from the roosting spot where 15 to 30 have hung out in early spring mornings in recent years. Saw a single Yellow-rumped Warbler and heard my first Warbling Vireo of the sprig - they should arrive in numbers soon. Observed a large flock of migrating female Red-winged Blackbirds eating recently opened tree buds.
