Subject: [NHBirds] Pondicherry migrants
Water birds highlighted a trip into Cherry Pond and Little Cherry Pond on Sunday, April 13.
Cherry Pond:         Lesser Scaup- adult male with about eight Ring-necked Ducks        LONG-TAILED DUCK- a gorgeous adult male rare here in spring.
Northern Harrier- an adult female in one of their few nesting areas in the state,
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker- a bit of a surprise, seen and heard.
        Belted Kingfisher

Little Cherry Pond:        Wood Ducks, Black Ducks, Mallards, Hooded Merganser plus
        35 Ring-necked Ducks and
Lesser Scaup- a second adult male with the Ring-necks.
Both ponds are completely open though the trail to Little Cherry has some ice on it.
