Dear Birders,
Chris Conard gave me a heads up on a swan-necked grebe at Cosumnes this morning, reported by one of the volunteers at the Bufferlands. My car's in the shop today, so I relied on Jason Talbott to look for it. He just reported that the bird is a Clark's grebe. It's along Desmond Road just a bit east of the railroad tracks. That's a tough one to get at the preserve.
